Tragic End
Sailendra Nath Roy, the police man entered the Guinness record books in 2011 after traveling the farthest recorded distance on a zip line using his hair.
Once again he attempted to cross the Teesta river via ponytail and zip line, in front of hundreds of onlookers in West Bengal. But Roy became stuck just shy of halfway through the 600-foot journey, on 29 april 2013. Unfortunately his hair got stuck in the line’s wheeler, within 45 minutes he was dead. Though Roy wore a life jacket, he apparently didn’t arrange for emergency aid. He was desperately trying to move forward. He was trying to scream out some instruction. But no one could follow what he was saying.
spectators, unaware of what was happening, continued to clap as he struggled. He eventually lost consciousness and died of a massive heart attack. Atlast rescuers were able to remove him from the line after about 45 minutes.
In 2008, he pulled the nearly 39-ton Darjeeling toy train using his ponytail.

The 23rd mission of PSLV-C20 has been successfully launched. This is the ninth time ISRO is using the 'core alone' variant of the rocket.
The 668.5 kgs and 44.4 metres tall rocket had a lift off mass of 229.7 tonnes. Besides 'SARAL', it put into orbit two micro-satellites UniBRITE and BRITE from Austria and AAUSAT3 from Denmark and STRaND from United Kingdom and also one micro-satellite (NEOSSat) and one mini-satellite (SAPPHIRE) from Canada.
The ISRO-built SARAL is a 410-kg satellite with payloads - Argos and Altika - from French space agency CNES for study of ocean parameters towards enhancing the understanding of the ocean state conditions which are otherwise not covered by the in-situ measurements.
SARAL will provide data products to operational and research user communities, in support of marine meteorology and sea state forecasting; operational oceanography; seasonal forecasting; climate monitoring; ocean, earth system and climate research.Altimeter (Altika) would help study the sea surface heights while Argos payload is a satellite-based data collection platform.

R-Day
One of the major national holidays of India, Republic Day is celebrated to remember the transition of India into a republic nation and the implementation of the Constitution of India on January 26th, 1950. A grand event is organized in the capital of New Delhi, wherein the President hoists and unfurls the Indian flag, which is followed by a massive parade. India welcomes a different chief guest every year to witness its Republic Day celebrations. The honorable chief guest is the head of state or government of another country. The guest is chosen on the basis of certain factors, be it, strategic, diplomatic, business interest or international geo-politics. Given in this article is the list of the chief guests that have attended the Republic Day program since 1976 in the capital city of New Delhi. Since 1950, India has been hosting head of state or government of another country as the state guest of honour for Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. During 1950–1954, Republic Day celebrations were organised at different venues (like Irwin Stadium (National Stadium), Kingsway (Rajpath), Red Fort and Ramlila grounds). It was only starting 1955 when the parade in its present form was organised at Rajpath. The guest country is chosen after a deliberation of strategic, economic and political interests. During 1950s–1970s, a number of NAM and Eastern Bloc countries were hosted by India. In the post-Cold War era, India has also invited several Western leaders on a state visit during the Republic Day. It is notable that before India fought wars with China and Pakistan, leaders from these countries were invited as state guests for the Republic Day celebrations. Interestingly, Pakistan Food and Agriculture Minister was the second state guest from that country for Republic Day in 1965, a few days after which the two countries went to a war. Countries which have been invited multiple times include India's neighbours (Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Mauritius), defence allies (Russia/USSR, France and Britain), trade partners (Brazil) and NAM allies (Nigeria, Indonesia and erstwhile Yugoslavia). France and Bhutan have the distinction of being the guest of honour for the maximum (four) number of times followed by three visits each from Mauritius and USSR/Russia.
